This is a photo of the “super low tide” heading out to Bar Island in Acadia National Park. On March 19th the Super Moon was about to rise and this resulted in the lowest tide I’d ever seen heading across to Bar Island.
Remember: numerous people (and cars) get trapped on Bar Island every summer because of the rising tide. Be sure to depart 3 ½ hours prior to incoming tide. And remember, the Chimani Acadia app includes tidal times for an entire year at Bar Island!
