Carpe-Travel-planning675Like many people, CarpeTravel founder Elaine Schoch takes her phone with her wherever she goes — including out camping in the wilderness, miles from any cellular service. Nonetheless, she says, “I’ve found several apps that do a great job of enhancing the overall camping experience,” including our very own (and wifi-independent) Chimani National Parks.

CarpeTravel, which focuses on “value luxury travelers” seeking experiences that combine enrichment, enjoyment and education, included Chimani National Parks among their nine Top Camping Apps. “So there are 59 National Parks located inside the United States. An app detailing each of them would be nice wouldn’t it? Well, look no further than the Chimani National Parks app,” writes Schoch. “It’s a great planning app to ensure you have a great time when you reach your National Park camping destination.”

Other apps that made the list included MotionX GPS, All Trails, Audubon Birds, SAS Survival Guide, Every Trail, Camp Finder, Project Noah, and The Night Sky Pro.
