Tabatha “Tabby” McKenna: Chimani’s Ambassador to Great Smoky National Park

In September, Chimani began working with Tabatha McKenna, a lifelong Great Smoky Mountain National Park lover and area resident, as an ambassador for the region.

When asked why she’d be a great brand ambassador for Chimani, Tabatha said:

1.        I have a passion for teaching others the importance of protecting our parks and to consider their impact on them.

2.        I am a very enthusiastic and fun loving person. I enjoy networking and meeting new people.  I am a local and have a good rapport with many business owners.

3.        I am in love with the outdoors. I enjoy being close to nature, and feeling connected to this beautiful world that we have been left in charge to care for. When I am not working my regular 9-5, I am out paddle boarding, hiking, and camping.

“Being someone who works behind a desk all day, there is nothing more that I crave than getting outdoors and exploring!” said McKenna. “I see this is an opportunity of a life time. In me, you will discover a reliable, detail-oriented, and extremely hard-working ambassador.”

As an ambassador for Chimani, Tabatha spends one day each week venturing to the gateway communities of Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Meeting with park visitors, local businesses, and anyone that she happens upon, Tabatha engages new users by demonstrating the app’s many features, distributing download cards, and meeting with business owners to distribute download cards to their guests.

Tabatha cares a great deal about her local national park, acknowledging its increasing popularity and the how that can put a strain on its natural resources:

“Great Smoky Mountains National Park is the most visited National Park in America. That brings with it many challenges, including traffic pollution, litter, and disruption of animal life. I believe it is of the upmost importance to reach out to people and get them excited about nature and impress upon them the value of our parks. Educating visitors about the responsibility of protecting the beautiful flora and fauna of this special place for future generations to enjoy is one of my greatest passions.”

We’re proud to have Tabatha on our team! Make sure you say “Hi!” if you see her around the park.

The free Great Smoky Mountains National Park app by Chimani allows you to explore the park paper-free! The app will guide you to the park’s many trails, points of interest, facilities, and more, all without the need of a WiFi or Cellular connection.
