Chimani adds National Forests, Wildlife Refuges, National Monuments and state parks for Arizona, Colorado, Illinois, Georgia and Maine.

The latest update to the Chimani app is our biggest content expansion to-date! The app now includes a complete list of every national forest, national wildlife refuge, national monuments managed by the BLM, national scenic & historic trails, and state parks in Arizona, Colorado, Illinois, Georgia, and Maine. Here is a detailed list of what’s included:

  • 125 National Forests
  • 537 National Wildlife Refuges
  • 37 BLM National Monuments
  • 30 National Scenic & Historic Trails
  • 22 Arizona State Parks
  • 45 Colorado State Parks
  • 85 Illinois State Parks
  • 46 Georgia State Parks
  • 54 Maine State Parks

All users – free and paid subscribers – now have access to this additional content and can start recording all of their previous visits, and begin earning points and verified badges during this summer’s road trips (travel safely, please!).

These additional listings have have all been researched and written by Chimani’s travel writers and offer the essential information for each destination. The home screen has been reorganized to better group all the major categories of public lands:

Looking for just national parks on the map? All you need to do is click on the map icon at the top right corner when you’re within the National Parks section and the map will filter out all other types of public land. The same goes for the birders out there – filter out everything but wildlife refuges by doing the same.

COVID is changing the way we travel and for people who are staying more local, this is our way of helping you discover public lands that are close to home. In the coming months we’ll continue to expand our content and add additional guides – both national parks and other public lands!
